About Melody Scanner

Melody Scanner is your #1 platform for generative music scores. It lets you create Piano Arrangements and extract Lead Sheets from Pop Songs and transcribe singled out instruments. All you need is an audio file or a YouTube link, and you’re ready to get creative with Melody Scanner!

  • Lead Sheet and Arrangement Mode: Basically ANY song! Although some genre work better than others, especially Pop. But why not try out different genre and songs yourself? Nothing to loose with the free demos!

  • Transcription Mode: Only Songs that contain nothing but the mentioned Instrument.

If you’ve ever tried to recreate a complex piece of music with numerous instruments by yourself, you know the challenges. But there is a solution: piano arrangements. Piano arrangements are notations exclusively for the piano, offering a way to cover complex songs.

Creating your own arrangements, even for less popular or diverse genres, is possible with just a few clicks using Melody Scanner’s Arrangement Mode. Let’s dive into it.

Transcribing with Klangio

To transcribe means to turn music (as an audio signal) into notes (as symbolised information). In otherwords, it’s the process of listening to a Song and figuring out the notes by repedingly listening to it and writing them down by hand in the process.

Sounds tedious, right? That’s where the Klangio Apps come in!

With the power of our AI Magic, we’re able to transcribe music for you within seconds into Sheet Music, MIDI, MusicXML and Guitar Pro Files. Since a perfect transcription should recreate the instructions for each Instrument played in a song, the accuracy of the Klangio transcription is dependent of various factors. Continue reading to find out more.

Did you know that Klangio applications offer more export formats than just sheet music PDFs? Let’s explore these formats and what you can do with them.

Watch the YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/HrSdbNbr03A

  1. PDF Export: The most basic form is exporting as a PDF. Useful for printing or displaying directly on your device for reference while playing. Note: PDFs are static and cannot be edited.

  2. MIDI Export: Exporting as MIDI provides a digital representation of notes, commonly used in music production. Unlike PDFs, you’ll need a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) like Reaper to view and edit MIDI files. Edit notes, add or delete them, and play them back using virtual instruments loaded into the DAW.

    Regular MIDI vs. Unquantized MIDI:
Regular MIDI is quantized, fitting notes into a fixed measurement for synchronization with a metronome during playback. Unquantized MIDI is raw, perfectly lining up with your original recording, even if the tempo changed during playing.
  3. MusicXML Export: MusicXML is displayed as sheet music but remains editable. View with music composition or notation software like MuseScore or Finale. Edit notes, add new ones, delete, and play back the song using virtual instruments.

  4. GuitarPro Project File (for Guitar2Tabs users): Specifically for Guitar2Tabs transcriptions, download a GuitarPro project. Similar to MusicXML but also displays TABs, a common notation for guitars. Use software like Guitar Pro or Tux Guitar for editing by dragging and dropping the file into the software.

  5. Editing Within Klangio: Did you know you can edit your Klangio transcriptions without external software? Check out the “There are Mistakes in my Transcription How can I fix them?”section below 😉

Feel free to explore these formats and find the one that best suits your needs.

If you’ve just transcribed something but aren’t satisfied with the outcome, don’t worry—we’ve got several options to help improve your transcriptions. In this video, we’ll explore them all.

Watch the YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/3USZGwcq2JQ

  1. Check Recording Quality: First, double-check the recording quality by asking:
    • Is the recording dry without excessive effects?
    • Is the playing precise?
    • Is it a recording of the right and singled-out instrument?
    • If the answer is no to any of these questions, re-recording might be more effective than editing.

  2.  Retranscribing: The easiest fix is retranscribing: Go to your Songbook. Search for your song and click on “Retranscribe” in the action menu. Adjust key, time signature, mode, and more. Click “Transcribe” to see if the errors are fixed. Repeat as needed to find the best settings for your recording.

  3. Edit Mode: Another option is the Edit Mode: Click on the “Edit Mode” button in the top left corner of your transcription. Edit the sheet without transcribing again. Adjust song signatures or use the pickup to shift in-time notes. Revert changes or save once satisfied.

  4. Feedback and Improvement: Let us know if you miss a feature in the Edit Mode—rate your transcription and write a comment to let us know! Your feedback, positive or negative, is crucial for our continuous improvement. We’re committed to enhancing the quality of our transcriptions, and your input is highly valued <3

  5. Download and Edit: Download your transcription as MIDI or MusicXML. Edit it in the software of your choice.

Full Transcriptions

Demo transcriptions are completely free, since we know you like free stuff 😉

They come in pretty handy if you want to check the transcription quality of a song, need a little help with a short section that you can’t figure out transcribing by ear, or of course testing the apps in the first place. There are some limitations to the free transcriptions tho: No edit mode, download formats are limited to PDF and the song is limited to the first 30 seconds

With full transcriptions, on the other hand, you can experience the full potential of the Klangio apps! Sit back while our AI transcribes whole songs, which you can edit afterward and download in formats like MIDI (quantized and unquantized), musicXML and Guitar Pro Files. If you’re not happy with the results, you can re-transcribe (to add additional information to the song) or refund the ticket to try out a different song.

Each full transcription with a Klangio App requires a transcription ticket. You can either buy a single ticket when viewing a demo transcription, get a Gift card (for your loved ones or yourself) or of course use our Subscription Plans.

Glad to hear you’re into transcribing as much as we are! If you run into this issue, please try reloading the page or logging out and back into your account. If you still do not have access to your premium subscription after one day, please send a message to our support team so they can take a closer look at the issue. You can find the email below the FAQs section.

Yes you can!

If you’re planning to do so, make sure that you’re using the same Account on the Klangio Mobile App that you’re also using on the Klangio Browser Apps so, you can switch between them and enjoy the premium features on both platforms. Of course, using a Google Login works fine as well.

Don’t worry, you can refund any Full Transcription with just a couple clicks. Simply Log into your Klangio Account, open the songbook and click on “Refund” in the Actions Column of that song.

If you’re having trouble finding it, check out this video: https://youtu.be/p0Ai6H-3xrs?si=pg_8eaCR_CYX8Txk

You can cancel your subscription at any time, by following these steps:

  1. Log into your account and click on the three bars in the top right corner of the page. Click on  “Account Info”, select your subscription and choose the cancel option.
  2. Your Subscription is now cancelled and will continue running until the end of the month/year (depending on your subscription). The exact date can be found under your account info as well.

Sad to see you go. We would really appreciate it if you can give us feedback on why you decide to cancel your subscription, so we can improve further 🙂
